SkillCat Closes $100K Uncapped Note Through Workforce Accelerator 

SkillCat, an AI hiring platform for skilled trade workers, today announced its acceptance into the OnRamp accelerator with the receipt of a $100,000 investment as an uncapped convertible note.

Over the past six months, SkillCat has developed and rolled out a completely free, online trade school for HVAC technicians. Due to the massive industry shortage of workers, this trade school has become very popular; today, almost 10,000 new students are visiting SkillCat every month. The platform is bringing a new pool of technicians to the trades. 30% of Skillcat’s visitors are women; the industry average is 2%.

Through the accelerator program, co-managed by Gener8tor platform and ECMC corporation, SkillCat will have access to hundreds of mentors and investors focused on workforce development - aligning with SkillCat’s goals of building a more equitable future. It concludes with an investor swarm & demo day of one-on-one meetings with 100+ top-tier investors focused on workforce development.

With the $100K investment, SkillCat plans to pursue active placements - getting great jobs for the students going through its programs. SkillCat is now running pilots of its AI-based simulator assessments with 20+ of the world’s largest HVAC contractors including Carrier, Mitsubishi-Trane, and Comfort Systems. Over the summer, all these companies plan to start hiring through SkillCat.
